Juventus announces that it has relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his position as head coach of their men's first team and have appointed Thiago Motta.
Juventus made this officially known via their social media handles and their websites, Following an outburst of anger during the Italian Cup final match against Atlanta in Rome. The decision was made due to Allegri's behaviour during and after the match, which Juventus believed did not align with their values.
Allegri was sent off by the referee for his protests aimed at the match officials, and his actions during the victory celebrations led to an inquiry by the Italian Football Federation's disciplinary tribunal.
Despite securing a record fifth Coppa Italian as a manager, Massimiliano Allegri's tenure at Jeventus came to an abrupt end.
Juventus official statement through their website states;
"Juventus announces that it has relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his position as head coach of the men's first team.
"The exoneration follows certain behaviours during and after the Coppa Italia final that the club deemed incompatible with the values of Juventus and the behaviour that those who represent it should have.
It ends a period of collaboration, which began in 2014, restarted in 2021 and ended, after the previous three seasons together, with the Italian Cup final.
The club wishes Massimiliano Allegri good luck in his future endeavours."
Italian newspaper Tuttosport director Guido Vaciago claimed that Allegri met him after the match and warned him to always report what is true.
“After the game, Allegri told me: you’re a sh**y director! Write the truth in your newspaper, not what the club tells you”.
“Look, I know where to come and get you. I know where to wait for you”.
“I'll come and rip off both your ears. I'll come and hit you in the face. Write the truth in your newspaper”. Vaciago claimed.
Juventus has already contacted and offered a proposal to Thiago Motta to become their new head coach for next season. Thiago Motta has signed a three years deal, valid until June 2027.
Thiago Motta did an excellent job as Bologna manager qualifying to UCL and he will inform the club about his final decision soon.
Some fans have expressed how they feel about Juventus parting way with Allegri and they could not hold it but pouring out how they feel under the Italian club X handle (formerly known as twitter). Some of their comments are below:
Thank God it's over. These past three years have been really painful for me. Not being able to watch the entire game of my club is a torture. But that's my commitment, my attitude towards the club. Now it's finally over. I hope that there will only be a rainbow in front of us— Wan Gifandi Dwiky🍉 (@gifandiwan) May 17, 2024
This is not the way great club should dismiss the coach. Max should have ended his term in July, but you had to act disrespectfully and sack him now. He is a legend and he deserved more. I am deeply saddened and angry that you treated the coach in such a bad manner. Grazie, Max!

Not elegant at all to dismiss a manager, like #MaxAllegri who brought you to Italian dominance and gave you European recognition without thanking him for 12 trophies, including the one lifted two days ago.#ungrateful #juventusfc

Allegri had to go but this was not the way we wanted it to end. He deserved a proper send off at a home match for what he achieved not for this season but in his unprecedented winning first spell. Max will forever be a Juventus legend and leaves with another trophy! Grazie!🏆⚫️⚪️
